Learn if you qualify for any of our scholarships and grants. In addition, you may qualify for corporate tuition savings programs, work-study programs, state and federal assistance, including grants, Federal Grants or student loans.

Federal financial aid may make college more affordable, and completing an application is an important first step to determining your eligibility. Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) results may also be used to determine your eligibility for certain grants, loans and scholarships.

Apply for Financial Aid

Our 5-step application process can make submitting your application easier. 

1. Check Your Eligibility

To qualify for financial assistance, you must:

  • Enroll as a degree or certificate-seeking student 

  • Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen 

  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress 

  • Not be in default on a federal educational loan 

  • Not owe a refund on a federal educational grant 

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent 

Answering “yes” to any of the following questions means you are an independent student for 2024—2025:

  • Were you born before January 1, 2001?

  • As of today, are you married? (Answer “no” if you are separated but not divorced)

  • At the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, will you be working on a master’s or doctorate program (Such as a M.A., MBA, M.D., J.D., Ph.D, Ed.D, graduate certificate, etc)?

  • Are you currently serving on active duty in the U.S. armed forces for purposes other than training? (If you are a National Guard or Reserves enlistee, are you on active duty for other than state or training purposes)?

  • Are you a veteran of the U.S. armed forces?

  • Do you have children or other people (excluding your spouse) who live with you and receive more than half of their support from you now and between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025?

  • At any time since you turned 13, were you an orphan (no living biological or adoptive parent), were you in foster care, or a ward of the state?

  • Are you or were you a legally emancipated minor, as determined by a court in your legal state of residence?

  • Are you or were you in a legal guardianship with someone other than your parent or stepparent, as determined by a court in your legal state of residence?

  • At any time after July 1, 2023, were you unaccompanied and either (1) homeless or (2) self-supporting and at risk of being homeless?

Answering “yes” to any of the following questions means you are a independent student for 2025-2026:

 

  • Were you born before January 1, 2002? 

  • As of today, are you married? 

  • At the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, will you be working on a master’s or doctorate program? 

  • Are you currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces for purposes other than training? 

  • Are you a veteran of the U.S. armed forces? 

  • Do you now or will have children who will receive more than half of their support from you between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026? 

  • Do you have dependents (other than your children or spouse) who live with you and who receive more than half of their support from you, now and through June 30, 2026? 

  • At any time since you turned age 13, were both your parents deceased, were you in foster care or were you a dependent/ward of the court? 

  • As of today, are you an emancipated minor or in legal guardianship as determined by a court in your state of legal residence? 

  • At any time on or after July 1, 2024, were you an unaccompanied youth who was homeless or at risk of being homeless?

2. Gather Documents and Complete Your FAFSA®

Gather financial documents needed to complete your application:

  • Social Security Number and Driver's License (or state ID) for you and for your parent(s) if you are a dependent student

  • If you are not a U.S. citizen, documentation of your eligible noncitizen status

The FAFSA® becomes available every October 1. For the 2025—2026 award year, the FAFSA® is now available for you to complete. Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid every year by the priority deadline of March 1. If the priority deadline is not met, students may still apply until June 30 of that academic year. Funding may be exhausted for certain aid programs as it is awarded on a first come, first served basis. For specific deadlines for Federal and State Aid visit studentaid.gov.

Students should complete the 2024—2025 FAFSA® using the 2022 Income Tax Information and the 2025—2026 FAFSA® using the 2023 Income Tax Information.

For 2024—2025:

2022 Income and Tax Information

  • The FUTURE Act - Direct Data Exchange (FA-DDX) will replace the IRS Data Retrieval tool and will be required to automatically transfer data from your completed 2022 tax form, after providing consent, directly into the FAFSA® via the IRS to help ensure accuracy.

  • Based on your answers to the marital or dependency questions on the FAFSA®, your spouse, parents or stepparents (contributors) may also need to provide tax information.

  • If you are unable to use the FUTURE Act Direct Data Exchange (FA-DDX), you will need 2022 federal tax information to complete your 2024—2025 FAFSA®. You may also need records of your parent/parent’s income (if you are a dependent student). Please use the following as a guide to gather your documents:
     

    • Your (and your spouse’s, if married) 2022 federal income tax return. 

    • Parent’s/stepparent’s 2022 federal income tax return (if you are a dependent student). 

    • W-2 forms or other records of income earned. 

    • Current bank statements and records of stocks, bonds, and other investments. 

    • Business or farm records, if applicable.

For 2025—2026:

2023 Income and Tax Information

  • The FUTURE Act - Direct Data Exchange (FA-DDX) will be required to automatically transfer data from your completed 2023 tax form, after providing consent, directly into the FAFSA® via the IRS to help ensure accuracy.

  • If you are unable to use the FUTURE Act Direct Data Exchange (FA-DDX), you will need 2023 tax information to complete your 2025-2026 FAFSA®. You may also need records of any contributor’s income (if you are a dependent student). Please use the following as a guide to gather your documents: 

     

    •  Your (and your spouse’s, if married) 2023 federal income tax return.

    •  Parents' (biological or adoptive, or parent’s spouse) 2023 federal income tax return (if you are a dependent student).

    •  W-2 forms or other records of income earned.

    •  Current bank statements and records of stocks, bonds, and other investments.

    •  Business or farm records, if applicable.

    •  Records of other untaxed income received, such as federal means benefits, Social Security, or military or clergy allowances.

Complete the FAFSA®

To complete your FAFSA® online, visit studentaid.gov. The FAFSA® school code for DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management is 010727. If you would like a preview of the questions that you may be asked on the FAFSA®, you can review the Web Worksheet for the aligned financial aid award year on the FAFSA® website.

After completing your FAFSA®, print the FAFSA® Confirmation Page for your records. If you have already completed a FAFSA® for another school, click on "Make a Correction to a Processed FAFSA®" and add our school code: 010727.

3. Meet With a DeVry or Keller Student Support Advisor

Call 877-496-9050 to schedule an appointment with a Student Support Advisor or visit a nearby campus location. Your Advisor will discuss your personalized financial plan. We're here to help you make sense of the financial aid application process and secure the financial assistance you need to make college more affordable.

4. Secure Your Loans

To secure your Federal Student Loans, the U.S. Department of Education requires all borrowers to complete Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and sign a Master Promissory Note.

Complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling online at studentloans.gov:

  1. Sign in using your Federal Student Aid PIN

  2. Click on "Complete Entrance Counseling"

  3. In the School and Loan Information section, choose “Illinois” to find DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management

Complete the Federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) online at studentloans.gov:

  1. Sign in using your Federal Student Aid FSA ID

  2. Click on "Complete Master Promissory Note"

  3. Select "Subsidized/Unsubsidized"

  4. In the School and Loan information section, choose Illinois to find DeVry University

Financial Aid Information Verification

The federal government requires DeVry and DeVry’s Keller Graduate School of Management to verify the accuracy of information on certain federal student aid applications. Selected applicants must submit requested documentation before awarded need based aid is disbursed. Students, and parents of dependent students, may be required to submit a copy of their prior-year federal tax information and additional family information. Other documents may also be required. If information on any of the documents conflicts with what was reported on the application, students may be required to provide additional information to resolve the conflict. Failure to do so will result in loss or no receipt of need-based aid.

Changes To Your Circumstances After Submitting Your FAFSA®

If there are or have been changes to your circumstances that are not represented on your submitted FAFSA®, you may contact your Student Support Advisor to pursue an adjustment based on your unusual or special circumstances, as defined below. 

Within 48 business hours of being notified of your circumstances, DeVry University will provide you with the process and requirements, including any required documentation, that you must complete for the school to review your circumstances and determine if an adjustment can be made. You will have 10 business days to provide any required documentation to your Student Support Advisor for review.  Upon receipt of all required documentation, the University will review your documented circumstances and determine if an adjustment can be made within 30 business days.* All decisions will be communicated to you in writing.  All decisions are final, unless new information can be provided.

Special Circumstance refers to financial situations such as a loss of a job, or excessive medical expenses that justify an aid administrator adjusting data elements in the COA or in the SAI calculation. Requests for an adjustment must be reviewed each financial aid award year.

Unusual Circumstance refers to the conditions that may justify an aid administrator to make an adjustment to a student’s dependency status based on a unique situation, which include but are not limited to:

·       An abusive family environment (e.g., sexual, physical, or mental abuse or other forms of domestic violence)

·       Human trafficking, refugee or asylee status

·       Abandonment by parents

·       Incarceration or institutionalization of both parents

·       Parents lacking the physical or mental capacity to provide support

·       Parent whereabouts unknown or cannot be located

*Please note that during our review of your circumstances, more information, including additional documentation, may be required in order for the University to make a determination. You will be notified, in writing, if this is required and you will be expected to provide that additional documentation within 10 business days.

5. Set Up Your Profile

After application to the University, review your Student Account information by logging into learn.devry.edu. In the Student Finance Section is an expandable right-hand menu that provides options to set up payments or sign up for a payment plan, set up direct deposit, and manage account authorizations like electronic 1098-T notifications. Please note: many of these items will open in a new window, so you may need to review your pop-up blockers.
