Is engineering technology the same as engineering?

Not quite. While both fields involve technical problem-solving, engineering technology is more focused on applying what you learn in real-world settings. Engineering tends to focus more on theory and advanced math. If you’re interested in using hands-on tools; solving practical problems; or working with automation, electronics, or manufacturing systems, engineering technology may be a good fit.

Is engineering technology easier than engineering?

Engineering technology isn’t necessarily easier than engineering as it depends on your skills, interests, and experience. Engineering technology roles are often a great match for people who prefer applied learning over heavy theory and advanced math, for example. Engineering, by contrast, is more focused on complex theoretical work and design.

How do I apply to DeVry?
