LISLE, Ill. March 9, 2026 – DeVry University announced today that its human resources curriculum across multiple degree programs have been recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as being in alignment with the organization’s HR Curriculum Guidelines.

Associate of Business program is one of fewer than five associate degrees academically aligned with SHRM standards
The acknowledgment spans DeVry’s Master of Human Resource Management, and DeVry’s Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Bachelor of Science in Technical Management and Associate of Applied Science in Business programs when completed with a Human Resources or Human Resource Management specialization.
DeVry’s Associate of Business program with a Human Resources track is one of fewer than five associate degrees nationwide that are academically aligned with SHRM standards. The program focuses on core HR concepts while providing pathways to continue into aligned bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Each of DeVry’s SHRM-aligned programs equip students with the skills and competencies needed to succeed in today’s human resources field. As an early adopter of SHRM academic alignment, the university updates its curriculum alongside the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge (SHRM BASK) to help graduates become career-ready and competitive.

Brooke Hebenton, who received a Master of Business Administration with a Human Resources Specialization in 2025, said the program helped prepare her for her career.

The SHRM Academic Alignment Program provides research-backed curriculum guidelines for academic institutions to align their programs with SHRM’s knowledge base of content areas and behavioral competencies. Overall, SHRM’s alignment partnership includes more than 800 programs at over 500 colleges and universities worldwide, including six offered by DeVry.
