DeVry Education Group Inc. (NYSE: DV) has opened a Veterans Resource Room at its DeVry University campus in Phoenix.
For more than 80 years, DeVry University has helped military members, veterans and their families achieve their career goals through education, from training Army Air Corps instructors on electronic devices in the 1940s to being one of the first schools approved to accept the original GI Bill after World War II.
Of the 658 students on the Phoenix DeVry campus, about 20 percent were funded by the VA, as of the March 2016 term.
The resource room will give military students a chance to connect with each other, network and get access to resources, support and advocacy needed to succeed in college. Ongoing workshops will be offered to encourage students to develop their leadership style, implement new ideas, develop strong organizational skills and collaborate with fellow students and staff.
Greg Pace, national director of Military and Veterans Affairs for Downers Grove, Illinois-based DeVry, said his team will continue to identify the specific needs of DeVry's military students to help them achieve their educational goals.
