Earning a graduate business degree and then preparing for and passing the CPA exam may seem like a daunting task to busy professionals who spend their days behind desks or on the road for work. However, at DeVry University it is a very possible feat.
DeVry’s Keller School of Management has partnered with Becker Professional Education to provide CPA exam prep courses that help students successfully prepare for and pass the CPA exam. Becker has been a leader in CPA review courses for more than 50 years and boasts more than 400,000 successful alumni.
“The courses using the Becker methodology are taken by students for credit as part of their degree program and therefore can apply toward the hours they will need to sit for the CPA exam,” Joe Onorio, the campus director of DeVry’s Seven Hills location, says.
Coupled with Keller’s CPA exam prep courses, Onorio says Becker’s approach to learning helps students save both time and money on tuition while increasing their chances of passing the CPA exam. In fact, students who prepare for the CPA exam using the Becker method pass the exam at double the rate of non-Becker candidates.
Saving both time and money are key factors to DeVry’s students, who are often juggling careers, families, and school. While some students at DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management are traditional college-aged students, many are working professionals at various stages of their careers.
“Many of our students are balancing busy schedules, which is one of the reasons we offer flexible learning options,” Onorio says. “Students have the option to take classes on-site at our campus here in Seven Hills, online or a combination of both.”
At DeVry there is no such thing as a typical schedule. Students can learn during the day, in the evenings or on the weekends. Since most of DeVry’s faculty members are working practitioners in their fields of expertise, they also have a unique understanding of the demands on student time.
But flexibility does not compromise the quality of the education students receive.
DeVry students can enhance their MBA degree programs by focusing on one of 17 concentration areas, including finance, human resources, marketing, and international business. The school even provides business students an opportunity unique to a limited number of U.S. schools.

“Our master’s of project management degree program is accredited by the Project Management Institute’s Global Accreditation Center, the world’s leading association for project management professionals,” Onorio says. “DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management is among a limited number of U.S. educational institutions and schools worldwide with this designation — currently one of 16 in North America.”
