According to the 2009-10Institutional Characteristics and Completions Survey as produced by the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) of the U.S. Department of Education, DeVry University is among the top post-secondary institutions awarding associate and bachelor’s degrees to Latinos.
·DeVry University in Illinois was the second largest producer of Hispanic associate degree graduates in computer/information sciences.
·DeVry University Illinois and DeVry University California ranked fifth and eighth respectively for awarding bachelor’s degrees to Latinos in the computer/information sciences category.
DeVry University’s recognition comes from its inclusion in the Excelencia in Education initiative " Ensuring America's Future by Increasing Latino College Completion,"which aims to promote the role of Latinos in making the U.S. the world leader in college degree completion.Excelencia in Educationis a Washington, D.C.-based education research organization thatprovides data-driven analysis of the educational status of Latinos.

The need to address continued growth of the Latino college population will be a major factor our nation’s ability to remain competitive in the global economy.In August, the Pew Hispanic Center, a project of the Pew Research Center, called attention to new Census data that shows Latinos comprise the largest minority on college campuses, with 2 million Hispanics ages 18 to 24 enrolled in college last year.

DeVry University curriculum that guides its degree programs is tied directly to the skills and attributes hiring managers are looking for in candidates for employment in in-demand career fields. Students receive education from experienced faculty, many of whom are veterans of the industries their courses align with.
